Blood, Demons, Death Metal: Watch Portuguese Act Okkultist's Wicked New Video

Singer Beatriz Mariano delivers bewitching performance in "Sign of the Reaper" clip

Hailing from Lisbon, Portugal, death-metal outfit Okkultist are relative newcomers in the scene but their newest track "Sign of the Reaper" from the upcoming full-length Reinventing Evil is a solid testament to their already-honed abilities to take driving, infectious riffs and drop in the scathing, wicked vocals of Beatriz Mariano to create a fresh take on the genre.

The stunning video accompaniment to the track is a simple yet effectively terrifying visual that combines the chill of a powerful demoness with her colorless eyes and bloody crown with a performance clip shot in front of a black backdrop with selective lighting that reveals just slivers at a time of the musicians. Simple in its construction but striking with the absence of all color but the deep blood red of Mariano's otherworldly character, it complements the bleak tones of the track. A hopeless air of destitution lingers throughout the chilling tones, set off by the pointed guitar hooks and chugging breakdowns.

Pre-orders for Okkultist's debut full-length Reinventing Evil are available here, with a release date set for March 15th via Alma Mater Records, the new label from Moonspell singer Fernando Riberio. An album release show is planned for the same day in the band's hometown at Lisbon's RCA Club.
